Agency and Disclosure Registration Opens
The Real Estate Council of BC is pleased to launch registration today for Rule Changes: Agency and Disclosure – a new required course for licensees focusing on the regulatory changes coming into effect this June. This new online course has been developed in collaboration with the UBC Sauder School of Business, Real Estate Division.
Phased Registration
Over the next two weeks, each trading services and rental property management licensee will receive an email from RECBC with a link to the Rule Changes: Agency and Disclosure course registration page on the UBC Sauder School of Business website. We are contacting licensees in priority order, based on licence expiry date.
When you receive your registration link, you can visit the Rule Changes: Agency and Disclosure course registration page and choose a course start date that is convenient for you.
To find out when you will receive your registration link based on your licence expiry date, visit RECBC’s Relicensing Education Program page and select the How to Register tab.
REP Requirement
This course is a REP requirement which means that trading services and rental property management licensees will need to include proof that they have completed the Rule Changes: Agency and Disclosure course with a licence renewal application. The requirement to provide proof of completion of the course with a licence renewal application starts on October 1, 2018, regardless of when you took the course.
About the Course
Rule Changes: Agency & Disclosure is a self-paced online course focusing on the Superintendent of Real Estate’s new agency and disclosure rules.
You will learn the technical requirements of the changes to the Rules, the rationale behind the changes, and what the changes may mean to your day-to-day practice. With this solid foundation, you will be able to use your own professional judgement to apply those principles in your daily business activities.
The course will help prepare you to communicate effectively with consumers about the required disclosures, so that consumers can make informed real estate decisions.
