We want everyone’s experience with BCFSA to be inclusive and barrier-free. We are committed to identifying, removing, and preventing barriers to our services to fulfill our mandate of protecting the public.

  • We are actively working towards the requirements set out in the Accessible British Columbia Act and are pleased to have achieved the following objectives, as of September 1, 2023, we:

    1. Have established an initial accessibility committee;
    2. Are developing BCFSA’s Accessibility Plan – beginning with an inventory of barriers, measures to address them, and identifying gaps through evaluation and benchmarking – and will post the plan online once complete;
    3. Have created a mechanism for public feedback on the plan by including our accessibility contact email within the footer of the website.

  • BCFSA has received RHF Accessibility Certification through the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (“RHFAC”) program.

    RHFAC provides organizations with an understanding of their overall level of meaningful access in the built environment, based on the holistic user experience of people with varying disabilities affecting their mobility, vision and hearing. BCFSA has joined the ranks of more than 1,750 sites across Canada that have been rated through the program.
