Proposed Fee Review Framework

BCFSA is seeking feedback on the proposed Fee Review Framework Discussion Paper.

The proposed framework would establish a predictable, transparent, and clear process for reviewing regulatory fees across all BCFSA-regulated industries. The framework is intended to:

• keep fees current
• align fees with regulatory activities
• avoid large, infrequent fee changes

The proposed framework includes annual cost-based reviews and comprehensive reviews at least every five years to help ensure fees remain aligned with regulatory activities and continue to support effective regulation.

Feedback received during this engagement will help inform the proposed framework, implementation considerations, and potential impacts for regulated industries.

Any proposed fee change would remain subject to the applicable government approval process.

The engagement opens on September 16, 2026 and closes on October 16, 2026.

Participation in the engagement is voluntary. BCFSA will publish a summary of the feedback received and will not attribute comments to individual respondents. Please note that individual, non-anonymized submissions may be shared with the Ministry of Finance. Any fee changes resulting from this process would be subject to further industry engagement, BCFSA recommendations, and government approval before implementation.
