Deputy Superintendent of Real Estate issues a notice of hearing on 0981478 B.C. Ltd. and Mark John Chandler
VANCOUVER – The Deputy Superintendent of Real Estate has issued a notice of hearing for developer 0981478 B.C. Ltd. and its sole director, Mark John Chandler, in relation to that developer’s marketing of the 92-unit Murrayville House in Langley.
Details of the allegations are included in the notice of hearing issued by the Deputy Superintendent on January 31, 2019 under the Real Estate Development Marketing Act. Please note that these allegations will be considered at a hearing. Allegations are unproven until a determination has been made by the Superintendent of Real Estate or his designate.
The Superintendent of Real Estate has previously issued an urgent order in respect of this matter. On September 8, 2017, following an initial investigation that found evidence that indicated the developer had pre-sold individual units to multiple unrelated purchasers, the Superintendent ordered the developer to cease marketing, place all deposits in trust and file a new disclosure statement.
The developer partially complied with the order and requested a hearing. The Office of the Superintendent of Real Estate continued its investigation into 0981478 B.C. Ltd., which led to the allegations made in this notice of hearing.
The hearing will be scheduled at a date to be determined, and details will be posted on our website.
Superintendent’s hearings are open to the public and to the news media, but seating is limited. Those who would like to attend are asked to please email Mykle.Ludvigsen@gov.bc.ca in order to reserve a space.
