BCFSA requires persons who are registered as submortgage brokers under the Mortgage Brokers Act to qualify for registration renewal, and unregistered persons to qualify for reinstatement of their registration, by completing mandatory continuing education.
Before applying to renew your registration, make sure that you have completed your mandatory continuing education requirements. Be sure to register for your continuing education early, to ensure you have sufficient time to complete all requirements before submitting your registration renewal application.Learn more about continuing education
We will send you an email 60 days before your registration expires notifying you that your renewal application is due. A renewal service request will be available to you in the IRIS portal.

A colour copy of a government-issued photo ID.;
A VISA, MasterCard, or American Express for payment (the fee for renewal is $1,500 as of April 1, 2022. Late fees may apply for late submissions).; and
Completed all education requirements for renewal.
- Once you have all the materials required for renewal, sign up or log in to IRIS and find your Service Request number (SRXXXXXX) under the Personal Dashboard to begin the renewal application.
- Complete all required fields in the renewal application and submit the application by following the instructions in IRIS.
Once you submit your application, the designated individual must attest to the application before it is sent to BCFSA registration staff for approval. BCFSA’s registration staff will review your application.
