Multifactor Authentication Is Coming to IRIS

On December 1, 2022, BCFSA will be implementing Multi-Factor Authentication or “MFA” to the sign-in process for IRIS for all users.

MFA is an additional layer of security that uses more than one factor to verify a user’s identity when signing in. The factors used are:

  1. Your password, and
  2. Your phone.

Users may already be familiar with using MFA as it is becoming increasingly common to access websites or devices with secure and sensitive content.

From now on, when users log into IRIS the additional identity verification safeguards that the account will remain secure even if a user’s password is compromised. BCFSA is taking this important step to enhance the security of our technology and protect the data which stakeholders have entrusted to us.

Existing IRIS users will be prompted to add an additional form of verification when they next sign in.
